Well, I think you would really get along with copywriting so I’m going to set you two up. I don’t want you to go in all guns blazing though so here are a few pointers.

1. Talk about them, not you

Remember, you’ve never met them before. This is the first time they have even heard your name. You would not only be rude but bordering on boring if you just talk all about yourself. Get to know them, maybe ask a question or two. Once you understand them, you can tell them want you can do for them. How could your product or service improve their life? Does it educate, inspire, or entertain?

2. Make them feel exclusive

Now they’re listening and they want to learn about you. Don’t go telling them this is how you treat everyone. Make them feel special, make them feel like a VIP jumping the line at a crowded venue. Your service or product isn’t for everyone, it’s for them so tell them why. Maybe your delicate earrings are designed for the most sophisticated and elegant people. Maybe your yacht cruise is only for people who are the life of the party. You get the gist.

3. Let them know where they stand

Don’t leave them wondering what are we doing here? What do they want from me? You are going to clearly communicate what your intentions are. Otherwise, they will be confused and unlikely to make a prompt response. Slip them a call to action. Learn more. Enquire Now. Buy Now.

4. Call them back

It is significantly easier to retain an existing customer than acquire a new one. So keep in touch with them and don’t let them forget you. Maybe it’s a thank you for shopping with us or a coupon for their next purchase. Whatever you do, don’t ghost them.

Alright, I think you’re ready. The ball is in your court now, go nail your copy.
